Working with Na'imah was amazing, and I don’t even want to think about what it would be like without her. She met with me consistently throughout my pregnancy and was always available to field questions about working out, diet, or anything else I came up with. She hosted seminars that I attended and provided me with plenty of literature to use. When I went into labor she was here as soon as she could be and stayed with us for the entire 48 hours. She provided me an immense amount of comfort during the whole process. Her energy is was steady and measured throughout all the twists in the process. She was able to give my partner support when he needed it as well. She was an integral portion of our team, and I constantly tell everyone about how great our experience was and that everyone needs to work with a doula. When it was time for me to push, I’ll never forget her telling me that this was my time to shine and get over the finish line. She knew exactly what to say when we needed it.

Michelle...

I had the pleasure of having Na'imah serve as a doula for the birth of my second child.  Prior to choosing to work with Na'imah I interviewed serveral doulas and felt a sense of peace and security that I had not felt with any of the previous doulas I interviewed. From our initial meeting she took time to learn our history, understand both our needs and fears as well as the trauma we had endured with our first born.
Na'imah immediately provided information and suggestions regarding diet, vitamins and supplements as well as activity. She respected where I was emotionally and validated my feelings.  She celebrated milestones with me and I honestly feel like I had an additional cheerleader in my corner. Na'imah came to my house while I was in labor and coached myself and my husband on positions that would ease my discomfort, she made sure I was well hydrated, and that my movements would place our baby in optimal position for delivery. She told us when we should head to the hospital (and she was spot on as I arrived to the hospital 7cm dilated).  Once at the hospital she continued to coach my husband and I. Once my son was born Na'imah helped him latch on both breasts, when it was clear he had latched she gave me the opportunity to feed him and enjoy our golden hour. About an hour and half after birth Na'imah left the hospital and continued to check on us throughout my hospital stay. While I was in the hospital I started dealing with painful engorgement, I wasn't able to get relief at the hospital, Na'imah came to my home once I was discharged and showed me how to massage my breasts in order to get relief as well as telling me what supplements I could take to ease my discomfort. Na'imah continued to check on my family for the first 6 weeks postpartum. Words will never express how great of a doula Na'imah is and God willing I look forward to working with her again.

Ileana...

God's angel sent to mothers. If I hadn't already named my baby and received gifts with my baby's name on them, I would have named my first born after Na'imah. I'm the most grateful for Na’imah, my experience would not have been the great one I can look back on without her. My labor pains started before I was actually in labor. Na'imah went above and beyond to help me get through 2.5 days of labor pains, and coached me during the delivery and after the baby arrived, on my self care and breast feeding. I was hesitant to work with a doula, I didn't think it was necessary. But boy was I wrong. Doulas should be mandatory. I loved Na'imah's guidance through my labor, it helped move the labor along. Na'imah was extremely patient and knowledgeable through out. A great listener and very responsive to the signs I was showing of where my labor was. I can't brag enough about how amazing and the blessing Na'imah was to the birth of my baby. Highly recommend, ten stars, plan on doing it all over again with her!

Tiffany...

I recently had my first child at the age of 35, and this entire process was made easier by the presence of my Doula, Na'imah Delpeche. I made the decision to have a doula about a month before my delivery. During the final month I was able to apply all of the advice and techniques which I believe made it easier to have a natural, non-medicated birth. Na'imah was always available to answer any questions or concerns we had and checked in on us regularly. She kept me accountable for my birth plan and on track to accomplish my birth goals. The day I went into labor is a day I will never forget. All the unknown questions, sensations, and fears were mitigated by Na'imah. She allowed my fiance and I to be worry free and comfortable in the presence of our home while concentrating on getting through every contraction. The day of labor, she came prepared, walked us through every step, and provided a sense of safety and reassurance. At the hospital we felt prepared and understood what was going on due to Na'imah's educational sessions. After we were discharged from the hospital, she also assisted with postpartum care which has tremendously aided in my recovery, and lactation advice. I will never forget her kindness and genuine attitude at this crucial moment in my life. At the end she felt like family, and we will definitely refer to her services for our next child . Thank you Na'imah!!!

Michael...

I honestly don't know how we could have had the beautiful and empowering birth experience we had without Na'imah Delpeche. From the moment we met her, we knew she had the experience, expertise, and human insight to guide Annik (and me!) through the pregnancy. She had an uncanny ability to intuit a complete picture of us both. We were often surprised at how attuned and responsive she was not just to my wife's physical needs during pregnancy and in preparation for birth, but to both of our emotional and spiritual needs as well. What's especially remarkable is that her intuitive grasp of the whole person includes the expertise of the human body that would embarrass your doctor. I often joked with friends that were I to have a heart attack to please call the doula, though Na'imah's holistic approach to nutrition would probably have prevented a heart attack from happening to begin with. Anyway, you shouldn't take my medical advice, but you should consider hiring Na'imah as your doula. Watching her guide my wife Annik through labor itself was like watching Jordan or Federer on their respective courts. She literally orchestrated each breath my wife took during her labor up until the moment our little Lucy was welcomed into the world. My wife came away feeling empowered by her birth and secure that our daughter's entry into the world was a loving and positive and beautiful experience. It was a great start to life and it was really all thanks to Na'imah Delpeche.

Annik...

For the birth of our first daughter, my husband and I agreed that we needed the guidance of a doula and we were so happy to have chosen Na'imah! She was present and responsive at every step of our pregnancy--responding to our nervous first-time parent questions, helping me stay healthy to pass my glucose and group b strep tests and overcome a lingering cold, and coaching me on a nutritional, herbal and exercise plan to prepare my body for labor. As a result of her help, I had a very healthy pregnancy with no complications and was able to give birth naturally in the manner I'd envisioned. Throughout pregnancy, we already knew we couldn't have asked for a better guide than Na'imah, but once labor began, we were blown away by her professionalism, encouragement, and reassurance. You want to have Na'imah with you when you are giving birth. Na'imah understood what I wanted from my birth experience and she had a plan to deliver that experience to the best of her ability. Through her careful listening throughout the pregnancy up to her attentive care in labor, Na'imah acted like a conductor, guiding us through labor. Every time I had a doubt or fear, Na'imah knew how to reassure me, refocus me, and ground me to let me keep working. She strategically suggested positions for me to try that corresponded to my specific situation. She ensured that I ate and drank enough to keep going for 18 hours. She helped relax me with aromatherapy and tea. She massaged my back and applied pressure to help me through contractions. She involved my husband and suggested ways he could help support me. As I was pushing, she spoke reassuringly to me and stroked my hair.

Na'imah was with us the whole time we labored at the birth center and I will never forget her kindness or support. It made all the difference and helped me stay calm and bring our baby into the world peacefully and without unnecessary intervention or trauma. Thank you Na'imah!

Jada...

Na'imah was a godsend to my husband and I when we delivered our baby girl. My husband called her in the wee hours of the morning when I began to labor. She came to our home completely prepared and took charge of tracking my contractions, comforting me and helping my husband get us ready to leave for the hospital. Because of her, my hospital delivery went flawlessly and she advocated fiercely for my birth plan to be honored. And it was. I had a healthy baby girl via a vaginal delivery with no pain medication needed. This would not have been possible without the support and preparation provided by Na'imah. The nurses and doctor were so impressed with her that they requested her card for references for other expectant mothers. She went above and beyond for us and I am forever grateful for her presence on that day. If we have a second baby she will be the first person I call. Even before a doctor. She is not only an amazing doula; she is an incredible person who truly loves what she does.

Stephanie...

Na'imah Delpeche is a gifted doula and holistic health practitioner. My first pregnancy resulted in an emergency Cesarean section under general anesthesia. When I learned I was pregnant with our second child, I was determined to have a VBAC. I knew an experienced doula would be essential. I knew we had to work with Na'imah.

Over three long days of labor Na'imah was ever present and energized with a seemingly bottomless reservoir of tools and techniques. She always offered helpful suggestions to move the process forward. She struck the perfect balance between giving us time to ourselves and encouraging us to stay present, active and positive. Beyond labor support, Na'imah helped with everything from preparing meals to reading our son bedtimes stories.

At every moment Na'imah made me feel supported, cared for and heard. She reminded me of my own power and ability to manifest the birth that I desired so deeply. I ultimately gave birth to our beautiful son by VBAC after a very challenging labor. I know we could not have done it without Na'imah.

Na'imah is truly passionate about everything she touches. Her deep understanding and respect for the birth process are evident in the care and attention she provided to not only me but to my entire family.

Richard...

It was May 24th 2011 when she finally arrived. My daughter. I had no idea what it would take to make it happen, nor what it would take to transition forward. This is where Na'imah's help really stood out. From our initial request for her services until she left the island (and to be honest even after that), she was the penultimate professional. Assistance with diet, stress management, coping mechanisms, a shoulder to lean on, an open ear, a rub on the back, a timely massage, being present...

Being present is to me her best skill. At no time was she unavailable, unreachable, unable to help. Before, during, and after labor, she was there. Her commitment didn't end with the birth. For us, and I would venture to say for her, we became an extended part of her family. Connected through an endless stream of interconnected experiences. She began as "a" doula and became OUR doula. Two years later when we were having twins there was no doubt as to who would be there to help us through. To advocate, advise, guide, and assist. OUR (my) Doula Na'imah

Tamara...

If you are looking for a doula who is incredibly knowledgeable, extremely organized, and in love with her chosen profession, Na'imah is your woman. Na'imah was the doula for my family in September 2011. She was amazing! Right off the bat, I felt very comfortable with her down to earth demeanor. She was open to wishes and flexible about birthing plans. Our pre-labor meetings were very informative and I was left with information that helped me throughout my pregnancy.  At the hospital, Na'imah was calm and so helpful in getting me through my labor without pain medication (as well as showing my husband what to do). No matter what your birth plan, we strongly recommend you meet with Na'imah to see if she might be a good fit. I don't think I can express how grateful we were for her help and guidance other than to highly recommend that others consider having her as their doula.

Clara...

Na'imah was amazing! From the moment my husband and I met her we both felt very comfortable with her, she was very knowledgeable about everything baby, pregnancy, labor and delivery. We immediately knew we wanted her to be part of our process. The months leading up to the birth of my daughter, Na'imah was very helpful with any questions I had. She gave me exercises to do in order to have my baby be in the right position for delivery, and she also informed me about all sorts of natural alternatives to prepare my body for delivery. During labor and delivery Na'imah was the best, I couldn't have done it without her. She massaged me, she worked on pressure points, and also did aromatherapy in order to help calm down. I know for a fact that when I have a second child I want Na'imah by my side.  I'm so thankful that Na'imah was with me.

Amanda...

Na'imah is an extremely experienced doula. Both myself and my husband spent a significant amount of time learning about the birthing process from Na'imah prior to our labor. We discussed what type of birth we would ideally like to have, and everything went as planned. I felt extremely comfortable and relaxed the entire time that I was in labor, knowing that Na'imah was there to guide me. We wanted to birth in the hospital and have the most "natural" experience possible. Neither myself or my husband had much/any experience in the hospital, so we were happy to have Na'imah by our side to guide us through the process. With the help of Na'imah we were able to have the experience we wanted. After the birth Na'imah helped with the initial latching on and breastfeeding, which went very well. I was happy to receive follow up from Na'imah once I was home from the hospital. I definitely recommend Na'imah for a doula. She is extremely flexible in how she works, engaged in our process, and very knowledgeable.
